If you love these winged wonders as much as I do, please try out these simple ideas on how to make your home more bird-friendly.
- Set up a bird feeder. Make sure to get appropriate wild bird seed.
- Set up a bird bath. They love this clean water to soak in and to drink from.
- Hang a bird house. Nesting is one of the most important things in a bird's life. It can be hard from them to find shelter, so why don't you give them a hand?
- I see birds carry around nesting material all the time. Find a patch of dried up grass and plants. Take bunches and stick them near bird bathes, feeders, houses and on fences for them to find.
- Pick up litter. Litter affects birds just as much as any other animal. Make sure to throw away plastic bags, long strings and other hazardous items to keep birds safe.
- Print out large pictures of hawks, crows and other big birds. Tape them to large
